ABOUT THE ARTIST
Living in Antigua since 1980, Sarah Fuller took over the old "Antigua Pottery" in the mid 1980’s and transformed it into the highly creative Studio it is today.
Using only local clay and inspired by the tropical world around her, she produces both functional and decorative pieces; lamps, wall sconces, mobiles, candle holders as well as bowls, mugs and everyday ware.
She has developed her own unique line of glazes – her favorite being an Aqua / Blue combination. Which reflects the vibrant and ever-changing hues of the waters around Antigua. All glazes are lead-free.
Five years ago she opened up an outlet in historic Redcliffe Quay, St. John's: The Pottery Shop. Here you can find the widest range of her work, together with work from several other Antiguan potters.
Sarah is always open to ideas and commission work. She has produced one-off pieces for many of Antigua’s residents. Her custom made lamps and wall sconces are highly practical and extremely popular in Antigua, and are often commissioned by visitors to the island.
Various prestigious, private homes for the 'rich and famous' in Antigua and elsewhere are graced with Sarah's delightful creations. Two of her lamps are featured in the private collection of gifts offered by the Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of England.
